OVERALL RECORD: 135-106-1 (56%)
2021 SEASON RECORD: 57-50-0 (53.3%)
Well. Another average week and we keep drifting down to 50%. Time to switch things up in Week 9. Minor setback for a major comeback… HERE ARE THIS WEEK’S PICKS:
Week 9 Game of the Week (All Times CST)
Michigan at Michigan State UNDER 51– 11:00am
Honestly think both of these teams are closer to frauds than serious playoff contenders. This is evidenced by close games against mediocre Big Ten teams. I expect both defenses to show up and keep this a low scoring game… tossup so we are taking the under 51.
Pick: Michigan State 24-23
Top Picks of the Week
Navy (+11) at Tulsa – Friday 6:30pm
Navy has been playing teams tough these last few weeks (7 point loss to Cincinnati). Take the 11 points and maybe a money line sprinkle.
Iowa at Wisconsin OVER 36.5 – 11:00am
Do I think these offenses are good? No. But I think there could be enough short fields off turnovers where this (very) low point total hits.
Texas (+3) at Baylor – 11:00am
Texas is going just a short distance north. I have them slotted as a better team than Baylor and expect them to win.
Boston College (+6.5) at Syracuse – 2:30pm
Boston College has to turn it around somewhere. Why not the Carrier Dome? 6.5 points is way too many points between two bottom dweller ACC teams.
Georgia vs Florida (+14.5) – 2:30pm
Florida can keep it close for awhile. Especially considering this will be Georgia’s biggest test all season. Florida covers.
Texas Tech at Oklahoma OVER 67 – 2:30pm
Oklahoma is missing four of their five starting secondary players. Not to mention, Texas Tech can’t stop anyone. Over hits.
Charlotte at Western Kentucky (-17.5) – 3:00pm
Western Kentucky was blown out 38-9 by FAU. Western Kentucky is much better than their record.
Kansas (+30.5) at Oklahoma State- 6:00pm
Lance Leipold has Kansas playing much tougher in Big 12 play. After a close game with Oklahoma, expect Kansas to keep the difference under 30.5 points. Especially given Oklahoma State’s offense is nothing special.
Ole Miss (+3) at Auburn – 6:00pm
Ole Miss (not Auburn) is the second best team in the SEC West.
Penn State (+19) at Ohio State – 6:30pm
Ohio State’s blowout Big Ten wins have come against teams 1-11 in the Big Ten. Penn State has Sean Clifford healthier than the Illinois game… Penn State loses by 10-14 points.
UCLA (+6.5) at Utah – 9:00pm
Utah struggles stopping the run. UCLA runs the ball extremely well. Take the Bruins.
